What is the main ingredient in Regal Protect? 

The primary components of Regal Protect include essential oils and a proprietary silicone polymer, specifically, it is a proprietary formulation and modification of Poly Dimethyl Siloxane.

Is Regal Protect visible once applied to the prostheses or natural teeth?

Once applied, Regal Protect is transparent and not visible to the naked eye. Any excess product should be thoroughly wiped off, leaving behind only a 1-micron thick layer. To put this into perspective, one micron is approximately 1/70th the diameter of a human hair, which is well below the threshold of what the naked eye can perceive. This 1-micron layer is the desired thickness for optimal performance.

How would I know I have achieved 1-micron in optimum thickness?

You won't be able to ascertain the exact thickness of 1 micron, but by following the application instructions and guidelines, you can ensure that you achieve the desired thickness and desired outcome.

Can I use this product on natural teeth?

Yes, you may apply to natural teeth, especially in areas of high calculus accumulation like lower anterior teeth and upper molars.

How long will the product last when applied?

Regal Protect will last 6-12 months.

Can I apply Regal Protect to my crown preparations or veneer prep?

No, Regal Protect cannot be applied to crown preparations or veneer preps because it prevents adhesion, significantly reducing the effectiveness of cementing and bonding.

Can I reuse the product on another patient if it did not touch any saliva?

Under no circumstances should the product be reused on another patient, even if it hasn't come into contact with saliva. This precaution is crucial to prevent any risk of cross-contamination.

Can the patient take their own product home to re-apply as needed?

Regal Protect is meant to be applied exclusively by clinicians and is not intended for self-application by patients.

Can this product be applied to orthodontic retainers and aligners?
